Latvia is a country in Northern Europe. Its official name is the Republic of Latvia. The area is 24,900 square miles (64,500 square kilometres). The country borders on Estonia, Lithuania, Russia and Belarus. The access to the Baltic Sea makes Latvia’s location quite advantageous. Riga is the capital of the country. The Republic of Latvia has been a member of the European Union for more than 3 years.
